Owain's house

Owain has moved in with Uncle Matt & Auntie Kathy. The live in a little street in Cardiff.

"Little street?" asked Owain. "It looks pretty big from down here"

The street is very short, and from the middle Owain can see lots of things nearby. He has to be careful, and as he really is a good dragon he always crosses the road with Uncle Matt or Auntie Kath.

"There's Cathedral Road. Lots of funny looking cars there, " said Owain

"And down there is the wall around Pontcanna field. Is that to protect us from the squirrels?" asked Owain

Uncle Matt, Auntie Kath and Owain all live together in a type of house called a coach house. It's set back from the main row of terrace houses, and the house, or least the site of the house, used to be for horse drawn carriages and tack.
Owain outside his house

Owain hasn't seen any horses (he even looked under the bed), and suspects that the owners of his house just like the name. Owain has to go through a gate to get to his house. Once through the gate there is a big wooden door.

"How can I reach the handle?", asks Owain

Even though Owain has a small house, inside there is both an upstairs and a downstairs. "Wow," said Owain. "That's lots of steps. And they turn around a corner as they go up!".

Owain standing just through the front door, looking down the hall.

Although Uncle Matt and Auntie Kath go up and down the stairs all the time, it is a little harder for Owain.

So he climbed ...

... and he climbed ...

... and he climbed ...

all the way to the top.
"That's not really my best side, Uncle Matt"

Upstairs is a really big room that Uncle Matt and Auntie Kath sleep in. Across the hall from that is another room that has a really big bed, so any of Owain's friends can sleep over when they come to visit.

From this room Owain can see some sights of Cardiff. The window is really big.
"Careful, Uncle Matt, you know how you don't like balancing things"
On a clear day, or even a grey rainy day, Owain can see the Millennium Stadium from this room.
"Did you spell Millennium correctly, Uncle Matt?" asks Owain.

The other thing about this room is that it is the room where Uncle Matt keeps his computer. Owain can't reach the computer all by himself. He tries sometimes, but he really needs some help.
"Just ... a little ... bit ... closer ..."

But when gets that help, he begins typing away.

You won't believe how hard Uncle Matt laughed when Owain was doing this

After all his typing he can look at things on the internet. He's a very good dragon and only looks at things that Auntie Kath and Uncle Matt say are appropriate for a dragon his age. But imagine his surprise when he found this ...

"Wow, it's me, I'm on on the internet!

Owain is hatched!

It was a bright sunny day in Cardiff, when Uncle Matt & Auntie Kath were on the way to watch some Rugby. Auntie Kath spied an egg under some bushes. She picked it up, and it started to rattle.

And shake.

And hum.

And then it started to glow!
The glowing egg
And shine.

And then it ... cracked open!

And out popped ... Owain!
Owain!
Owain Gwyn Dragon was born! A baby Welsh dragon, bright red, with little wings and a tail. And a bright green bow that meant he always looked smart, right from when he popped out of his egg.

Being a Welsh Dragon, his egg was very hot (luckily Auntie Kath didn't burn her hands). He was Oh! so very hot when he came out, and being so hot made him thirsty. As everyone knows, it's important for dragons, especially baby ones, to keep up their fluids.
Owain was very thirsty
Uncle Matt got Owain a drink immediately. Owain was so grateful for his drink that he asked Uncle Matt and Auntie Kath if he could stay with them (and they said "Yes, of course, Owain"). As it turned out, Owain was just the right size to sit in Auntie Kath's bag.
Just the right size
That day, Owain went to the Rugby at Millennium Stadium!
Cardiff 9 - Toulouse 6 ("Yay, we're off to the semi finals," said Owain)
And saw lots of people on the way home!

Who knows what adventures that dragon may have?
